Located on the grounds of the new Metro Health Village, this 3-story, 62,000-square-foot Professional Office Building was constructed alongside the new Metro Health Hospital, offering a direct connection via a two-story walkway.
With construction of its new 208-bed hospital already underway, Metro contracted with Granger for the development of a new Professional Office Building. Designed as a 4-story, 93,000-square-foot building with hospital connection, the delivery of this facility would be a crucial factor for Metro, as it would house the laboratory and ancillary services that were to be active as a requirement to the hospital’s opening. Although delivery would be conducted on an extremely tight schedule, Granger made a commitment to Metro guaranteeing delivery for the opening date.
To maintain cost efficiencies and ensure on-time delivery, construction contracts had been prepared and steel had been pre-purchased. However, Metro underwent critical operational changes affecting the POB’s usage needs, removing the necessity for a fourth floor and reducing facility size to 62,000 square feet. Granger worked quickly and diligently alongside Metro to accommodate their changes. Redesign commenced and construction contracts were rewritten. Despite the obstacles faced, Granger preserved its ground breaking schedule and delivered as guaranteed for the hospital’s opening.
This LEED™ driven facility is now home to a variety of hospital services including laboratory services, endoscopy, wound/hyperbaric treatment, human resources, payroll, legal, volunteer services, occupational health & safety, outcomes management, radiology film storage, and the employee pharmacy. With its close proximity and direct connection to the hospital, the building also serves an ideal location for the hospital’s administrative staff.
